LZ Orange

This Fire Support Base was located north of LZ Pony on Highway TL3A at BR809878.

LZ Orange was fitted with a couple 105's which were owned and operated by the RF/PF (Regional Forces/Popular Forces) pronounced "RUFF PUFFs" with MACV Advisors and Mobil Advisory Team II-44 (MAT II-44). It was the district headquarters for the Hoi An District, Binh Dinh Province. It had a small one chopper LZ outside of the compound perimeter and a flush toilet that you activated by pouring a bucket of water in it.

The 105mm howitzers were emplaced in gunpits and they could provide accurate fire support to a distance of 10,000 meters, or 10 kilometers (about 6.2 miles).

LZ Orange was maintained by the 19th Engineers.
