Highway QL14S

Highway 14 was the major resupply route from Pleiku to Ban Me Thout in the South Central Highlands. This stretch of highway was bitterly contested for in several bloody engagments with main-force NVA units.

Ban Me Thout

Ban Me Thout was the capital of Darlac Province. During the 1968 Tet offensive the NVA kidnapped and murdered several civilian missionaries from the leprosareum located here. Like Pleiku, this city was abandoned without a fight by the ARVN at the beginning of the NVA's 1975 general offensive.

Rubber Plantation

This huge rubber plantation was owned by the Compagnie des Hauts Plateaux Indochinois, or The Indochina High Plateau Company, a French firm. The owners paid taxes to both the NVA and the government of the Republic of Vietnam in order to maintain their operations.
